Secret Symbols, ritual Objects & historic Documents

In the museum, the history and ideas behind Freemasonry in Austria are documented with many exhibits, display boards and multimedia facilities. You can see historical ritual objects such as gavel, compass, square, aprons from the 18th century, jewels (bijous) and rare masonic glasses as well as explanations of the diverse symbols of the Masonic universe.

The first lodge record in Austria from September 17, 1742, a master's certificate signed by Ignaz von Born or the Freemasonry decree (“Patent”) from 1785, with which Emperor Joseph II restructured the brotherhood, are among the particularly worth seeing exhibits in the museum.
